Running it
The WeldCraft TIG Torch WP-9 stands as a dependable workhorse for welders who demand precision and control in their TIG welding applications. Rated for up to 125 amps on DC and slightly less on AC, this air-cooled torch is ideally suited for thinner gauge materials, delicate fabrication work, and hobbyist or light industrial applications where portability and ease of handling matter as much as performance. Its compact, lightweight design reduces operator fatigue during extended welding sessions, while the flexible cable allows for maneuverability in tight or awkward welding positions. The torch head is engineered to maintain a cool grip even during continuous use, thanks to efficient air circulation around the components, making it a favorite among welders who work on automotive panels, small pipe fittings, and intricate metal art projects. Built with durability in mind, the WP-9 features a robust brass torch body and head that resist wear from repetitive use while ensuring consistent electrical conductivity for stable arc performance. The torch accepts standard WP-9 series consumables, including collets, collet bodies, and ceramic cups, giving welders the flexibility to customize their setup based on tungsten size and gas coverage needs. This compatibility with widely available WP-9 parts simplifies maintenance and reduces downtime, since replacement components are easy to source from most welding supply outlets. The valve on the torch handle allows for manual gas flow control, giving welders precise command over shielding gas delivery without needing to adjust settings at the machine, which is particularly useful for tack welds or quick adjustments mid-project. Ergonomically, the WeldCraft TIG Torch WP-9 is designed with a comfortable handle contour that supports steady hand positioning, a critical factor when working with fine detail welds that require a controlled, low amperage arc. The torch pairs well with a variety of TIG welding power sources, making it a versatile addition to any welding station, whether in a professional fabrication shop or a home garage setup. Welders appreciate its balance between affordability and reliable performance, as it delivers consistent arc starts and smooth operation without the premium price tag of larger water-cooled torches. For those seeking a dependable air-cooled TIG torch that handles everyday welding tasks with precision, the WeldCraft WP-9 offers a practical, no-nonsense solution built to keep pace with demanding work environments.
The WeldCraft TIG Torch WP-9 is a solid, budget-friendly air-cooled torch for hobbyists and light fabrication work. It offers good compatibility with standard WP-9 consumables and performs reliably up to 125A DC, making it well-suited for thin metal work, though it's not designed for heavy industrial-duty cycles.

4 people who bought it
Bought this as a replacement for my old worn-out torch and it works great. Handles thin aluminum and steel welds smoothly, and the head design gives good visibility.
Works fine for my home shop projects. The cable was a bit stiff out of the box, but after some use it loosened up. Great compatibility with my existing WP-9 consumables.
Does the job for light fabrication and repair work. Wouldn't recommend for all-day industrial use, but for occasional welding tasks it's reliable and affordable.
The torch itself welds well, but the gas valve knob is tiny and hard to adjust with thick gloves on. Otherwise it's a dependable, no-frills torch.
