I've used this TIG 200 for aluminum boat repairs and steel gate fabrication. The AC/DC switch works well, and the foot pedal gives good control. Not a professional-grade unit, but for the price it's hard to beat.
Learning TIG welding on this machine has been manageable. The digital display helps me dial in settings quickly. The fan is a bit noisy but I can live with it given the price point.
Out of the box, the stock torch and cables felt cheap. I upgraded the torch and it made a big difference. The welder itself runs clean arcs once you dial in the settings.
Was skeptical about a budget machine handling aluminum well, but this TIG 200 surprised me. Clean, consistent beads once I got my technique down. Great for weekend projects.
