Switched to this from a small home welder and the difference in penetration on 1/4 inch steel is night and day. Runs smooth on flux-core and gas both.
This thing is a tank, literally. Great for my trailer fabrication projects but definitely not something you casually carry around the shop.
For the price point, getting this much power and duty cycle is impressive. Wish it had a digital readout but the analog dials work fine once you get used to them.
Running this five days a week on farm equipment repairs. Thermal protection has kicked in a couple times during long runs but it cools fast and gets back to work.
Didn't realize how much power this pulls until I tried running it on a shared circuit. Once I got a dedicated 230V line installed, performance was excellent.
