Been using this Forney 220 for repairs on farm equipment for over a year. Handles 7018 rod without issue and the arc stays stable even on thicker steel.
Bought this as my first stick welder. Learning curve was easy thanks to the hot start. Only complaint is it's heavy to move around the garage.
Welds great and the amperage control is smooth, but the fan noise is noticeable during long welding sessions. Still a good machine for the money.
