Running it
The Everlast PowerTIG 350EXT stands as a professional-grade AC/DC TIG welder built for shops and fabricators who demand precision alongside serious amperage output. Rated for up to 350 amps on DC and a robust output on AC, this machine handles everything from thin-gauge aluminum sheet to thick mild steel and stainless plate without breaking stride. Its inverter-based design incorporates advanced IGBT technology, giving welders a smooth, stable arc with excellent start characteristics, minimal spatter, and clean, tight bead profiles that reduce the need for post-weld cleanup. The AC frequency and balance controls are fully adjustable, allowing operators to fine-tune the cleaning action and penetration when working aluminum, magnesium, or other reactive metals, making this unit versatile enough to move between dissimilar materials on the same job without swapping equipment. Beyond raw power, the PowerTIG 350EXT is loaded with features aimed at professional-level control and repeatability. It includes programmable pulse settings, adjustable AC frequency up to 250Hz, and a squarewave output that delivers a crisper, more focused arc compared to older sine-wave inverters. The unit supports both foot pedal and torch-mounted amperage control, giving welders flexibility depending on the application, whether that's precision aerospace-style tack welding or heavier structural fabrication. A digital display simplifies dialing in exact parameters, while pre-flow and post-flow gas timers protect the weld puddle and tungsten from oxidation, extending consumable life and improving weld integrity. The machine also offers multiple pulse waveform shapes, so operators working with thin exotic alloys can manage heat input carefully, avoiding warping or burn-through. Built into a rugged, portable chassis, the PowerTIG 350EXT is designed for shop environments where reliability and duty cycle matter as much as versatility. Its high duty cycle rating supports extended production welding without excessive downtime, while the internal cooling system and thermal overload protection guard against damage during demanding continuous use. The welder also functions as a capable stick (SMAC) welding unit, giving fabricators added flexibility for repair work or multi-process shops. With water-cooled torch compatibility, an easy-to-navigate control panel, and industrial-grade internal components, the Everlast PowerTIG 350EXT is positioned as a serious investment for welders who need dependable, high-amperage TIG performance combined with the fine control necessary for exacting, detail-oriented work.
The Everlast PowerTig 350EXT is a capable, high-amperage AC/DC TIG welder that punches well above its price point, offering serious aluminum and steel welding performance for hobbyists, fabricators, and small shops. While the control interface isn't as polished as premium brands and quality control can be inconsistent unit to unit, the raw welding performance and value make it a strong contender for anyone needing 350A of clean, adjustable TIG power without paying flagship-brand prices.

Been running this machine for about eight months on aluminum boat repairs. The AC balance control lets me really fine-tune the cleaning action, and 350A means I never run out of power even on thicker plate. Duty cycle holds up well too.
Took me a while to get comfortable with the digital interface since it's not as intuitive as my old Miller. Once dialed in though, the arc quality is excellent and pulse settings give great control on thin stainless.
Welder itself runs beautifully when working right, but mine arrived with a loose internal connection that caused intermittent output. Everlast support eventually sorted it out but it took a couple weeks of back and forth.
The extra amperage headroom makes a huge difference on heavier aluminum weldments. Squarewave AC is smooth, arc starts are consistent, and the foot pedal control feels very responsive.
