I've used this for everything from trailer repairs to aluminum boat patches. Switching between MIG and TIG is straightforward and the arc quality is impressive for the price point.
Took me a couple weeks to dial in the TIG settings, but once I did the welds came out clean. The digital display helps a lot with consistency.
Handles most of my repair welding fine. The duty cycle isn't amazing if you're running it hard all day, but for intermittent work it's been reliable.
Machine works well overall but the fan is louder than I expected and my display started flickering after about 8 months. Still usable but a bit disappointing.
I build custom metal furniture as a side hustle and this welder covers all my needs. Aluminum welding with the spool gun took some tuning but results are great now.
